YOUNG people in Dumbarton and the Vale have been experimenting with a new social media challenge to raise awareness of knife crime.

The No Knives Challenge asks young people to butter a slice of toast with anything but a knife.

Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf said: "We have seen knife crime in Scotland fall drastically over the last decade and No Knives Better Lives has played a crucial role in this.

“I am looking forward to seeing what creative ideas everyone comes up with during this challenge.”

The No Knives Better Lives campaign encourages people to think about promoting positive life choices by raising awareness of the potentially devastating risks associated with knife carrying.
