AN alleged drink driver was reportedly caught driving more than six times over the legal limit in Clydebank.
The 51-year-old was arrested on Old Mill Road, Duntocher, after allegedly failing a roadside breath test on Monday, June 29.
Only the day before, police arrested a 27-year-old on Mountblow Road for a number of offences, including reportedly driving through drink or drugs and without an insurance or licence.
Both men were held in custody to appear in court.
Area Commander Chief Inspector Scott Carlin said: "Our Summer Drink Drive campaign launched at the weekend and it is disgraceful that a number of drivers are still getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
“With increasing numbers of cars on the road we are warning drivers to leave their car at home when enjoying a drink during the summer months.
“If you are heading out to socialise, think about how you will get home and don’t be tempted to drive after you have had alcohol. Help us to keep our roads safe for everyone this summer."
Police are urging anyone who has information on those who drive under the influence of drink or drugs to contact 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
