THE largest bus operator in the west of Scotland is preparing for a major increase in service levels in Clydebank and across Greater Glasgow in line with the latest easing of Scotland’s lockdown restrictions.

First Bus services in the greater Glasgow area have been significantly cut back to take account of low passenger numbers since March – but from Monday, June 29, approximately 75 per cent of services on the pre-lockdown timetable will be provided.

The company says the move is intended “to support the Scottish Government’s physical distancing guidance for customers to need to use public transport”.

Destination displays on the front of buses have been updated to show a ‘Bus Full’ message when the maximum capacity under social distancing rules has been reached, informing waiting passengers they will have to wait for the next bus.
