A PERSON has died after being hit by a train at Bowling rail station.
Emergencey services were called to the station at 9.19am on Friday, but the person passed away at the scene.
A BTP spokesperson said: "BTP were called to Bowling station at 9.19am on 26/06 following a report of a casualty on the tracks.
"Officers attended but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are in the process of notifying the person’s next of kin."
All services via Bowling were suspended following the incident, but trains began running again from around 10.40am.
ScotRail says disruption is expected on its Helensburgh-Edinburgh, Balloch-Airdrie and Dumbarton-Springburn routes until around 12 noon.
