A CHARITY for the disabled is calling for help from residents in Dumbarton and the Vale.

Gareloch Riding for the Disabled Association, which has been unable to operate since March, is asking for donations, time and awareness to help with the cost of keeping their horses.

Kate Bennett, group chair of the organisation, said: “Our loyal horses still need feed, hay and to see a farrier (horse shoe fitter) which all add up.

“With no clear idea of when we will be able to start activities again it is difficult to know if we have enough money to support our horses until riding resumes.”

The organisation provides volunteer based therapy through their seven horses to more than 50 people with disabilities.
