Hillwalkers and climbers in Dumbarton and the Vale are being challenged to put their passion for mountains and hills into words.
Mountaineering Scotland’s annual writing competition for 2020 is looking for contributions from hillwalkers who have been unable to climb since lockdown.
The competition is accepting entries for their prose and poetry sections, which can either be written in fact or fiction.
The winner of each category will receive £200 and their entry published in the quarterly magazine Scottish Mountaineer.
Prose entries should be a maximum of 2,000 words long and poetry a maximum of 200 words.
The closing date for entries is August 31 and submitted to Tommy McManmon at article@mountaineering.scot.
