DESPITE the country being in lockdown, celebrations still went ahead for a very special birthday.
Amy McQueen turned 104-years-old at Almond View Care Home, in Drumchapel, on May 23.
The centenarian puts down the success in reaching the old age to the fact that she did a lot to keep fit, including cycling and ice skating, when she was younger.
But even into old age, Amy did Tai Chi. She was also an avid reader and had many hobbies such as flower arranging, sewing, knitting, and painting pictures.

Ian and Marion, Amy’s son and daughter-in-law, said: “Longevity must be in the family as her own mum died in her 90s and Amy has a young sister who will be 98 this month. On approaching her 101st birthday Amy went into the care of Almond View where she is being very well looked after.”
Karen Hendry, service manager at the care home, added: “It was so lovely to celebrate Amy’s birthday. 104 is an incredible age and Amy is an incredible woman.”
