LOCAL residents who are spring cleaning their homes are being encouraged to do a “sort and store” to help beat cancer while lockdown restrictions continue.
Whilst Clydebank’s Cancer Research shop is temporarily closed, residents are being asked to safely store their would-be donations inside their homes during the Covid-19 outbreak to protect staff, volunteers and customers.
Donations that are left outside the shop could end up damaged, stolen or become a hazard to the community as there is no one to accept them.
Lisa Adams, Cancer Research UK spokeswoman in Scotland, said: “We need the public’s help to continue our life-saving work, so we’re grateful to people who are using the extra time at home to detox their wardrobes and clear out their cupboards.”
Cancer Research have also set up online marketplaces on eBay and Depop to sell any preloved items and donations.
