Up to 30 firefighters are tackling a blaze on an industrial estate.
Fire crews were called to the scene at Heathhall Industrial Estate in Dumfries just before midday on Monday.
Six fire engines were sent to deal with the blaze in a commercial building on the estate.
On social media, witnesses claimed nearby businesses were evacuated.
Video taken on the scene shows a large plume of black smoke billowing into a perfect blue sky.
There were no reports of any casualties.

In a separate incident, firefighters worked through the night tackling a blaze at a recycling centre roughly 10 miles from the site of today's blaze.
The fire, at a two-storey building at Solway Recycling in the Shawhead area near Dumfries, was reported at around 4pm on Sunday.
At the height of the incident, up to 45 firefighters with nine appliances were dealing with the fire.
There were no reports of any casualties.
