Drumchapel Foodbank says it has seen demand for the service more than double.
Volunteers said it would normally see between 40 and 80 families in a fortnight. Over the last two weeks they have helped up to 160 families.
Charity groups have said problems with securing food deliveries during lockdown has led to families having to seek help who would not normally require it.
The service has put out a plea for donations, which can be left at Salisbury’s Drumchapel and B&M Bargains.
The most urgently required items are; tins of Mac n Cheese, ravioli, minced beef, irish stew, spaghetti hoops, veg, noodles, Cup-a-Soup, toothpaste and shampoo.
A £5 donation can also be made by texting DRUM15 to 70070.
Drumchapel Foodbank is based at KCEDG, Main Reception, Unit 9, Ladyloan Place, G15 8LB.
