TACKS maliciously placed along the Forth and Clyde Canal path near Bowling have caused damage to children’s bikes and put NHS workers travelling to work at risk.
Cycle Form, a local bike shop in Clydebank, were visited by multiple cyclists looking to have their punctured tyres fixed as a result of malevolent act.
A worker at CycleForm told the Post: “Some of the cyclists were quite rightly angry and some felt that the path was too busy to social distance and had started avoiding it anyway. Others felt for those key workers who use the path to commute to work.
“Some children had punctured tyres as a result of this issue unfortunately. They were quite upset and so were their parents, some of whom had just bought their bikes too.”
This is the third time tacks have been reportedly placed along the canal path, causing distress to cyclists and pedestrians - the previous two times being discovered towards Clydebank Retail Park.
