Scotland is in lockdown. Shops are closing and newspaper sales are falling fast. We're not exaggerating when we say that the future of the Clydebank Post is under threat.

Please consider supporting the Post in whatever way you can – by paying just 85p for a copy of the paper, when you're shopping for essential supplies for yourself and others, or by subscribing to our e-edition here.

Thanks – and stay safe.

A CLYDEBANK-based business is determined to help other companies in the area out by sharing information via a blog during the coronavirus lockdown.

B-Able, an accountant and business support service on Alexander Street, has been updating a free online blog with financial and business advice.

Emma Armstrong, managing director, said: “Lots of clients have been in touch unable to work, and concerned about what they qualify for in terms of financial support, so I thought it would be a good way of getting information out to people.”

The detailed blog posts include basic tips for business survival; coronavirus updates relating to financial support; practical advice for individuals and employers; local authority funding advice; and support for the self-employed.

The managing director details the support available for self-employed workers including what they will be paid, and conditions of claiming the Self Employed Income Support Scheme.

In one post, Ms Armstrong wrote: “Please follow the government guidelines, stay at home or self isolate where required, and hopefully we can be over the worst of this in weeks rather than months.”
