MORE than 100 volunteers in Drumchapel have signed themselves up to assist their local community throughout the coronavirus outbreak.
Formed by the community council, residents and local councillors, Drumchapel COVID-19 Working Group is aiming to respond to all members of the community when in need.
Councillor Elspeth Kerr explained: "We have to work together and to help each other through this.
"We will do whatever we can to help and support locals - both in practical terms and on a mental health level."
The group has vowed to offer help to those in need by offering to pick up shopping, medication and tend to any issues that may arise.
Last week, one member was able to help an elderly lady change her lightbulb as her housing provider could only attend to emergency call-outs.
The group is urging anyone who may require additional support to make a referral to Glasgow Mutual Aid on 0141 280 7025.
