A THIEF who broke into a flat in Faifley has been ordered to carry out unpaid work as punishment.
Colin Mackie, 52, broke into a property in Craighaw Street on October 5, 2018.
During the housebreaking, he stole a jacket, items of jewellery, two mobile phones and money.
Mackie, of Beeches Road, Duntocher, appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court on Friday for sentencing, when Sheriff William Gallacher imposed a community payback order.
Mackie will be required to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work within six months, will be under social work supervision until October 2021, and must attend alcohol counselling.
Sheriff Gallacher told him: “I will fix a review because I want to make sure you’re actually doing something.
“By taking part, it will benefit you. If I find out you’re not complying, I will impose a custodial sentence.”
