Two young boys from Alexandria have become a viral internet hit after they were filmed bursting into song randomly singing a Beatles cover on the train home from a gig.

Alfie King, 11, and Jack Mullen, 13, belted out a duet of Let It Be, by the Beatles, during their journey home to the Vale following a gig at King Tut’s at which they had both performed.

Alfie’s mum, Tracy, told the Reporter: “They had never sang together before as a duo, but I decided to record them on the way back from the gig. The comments on social media have been super positive.”

The video has since hit over one million views on STV news last week.

The friendship between the boys blossomed in late May last year when Jack joined the singing group Singer Station, which Alfie also attends.

Alfie invited Jack to an open-mic night in Govan and the pair began to share their love of music.

Tracy recalls her son always singing around the house, but he did not have the confidence to face the public before.

The 11-year-old got his big break into the music industry when he appeared on The Voice Kids last year with singing partner Ava Macfarlane impressing music superstar Will.i.am.

Talking about the Voice Kids, Alfie said: “It was an all-round amazing experience. The show boosted my confidence and I wouldn’t have got where I am without it.”

Alfie has announced he will be performing at Loch Lomond Springfest 2020 with new friend Jack.

He told the Reporter: “I did the event last year. I am very excited to do it again. It is a very good place to perform and meet new people.”

When asked about how he deals with stage fright, Alfie shared his tips.

He said: “I like to sit down, be alone and gather my thoughts. I get nervous, but that is to be expected. I am just making the most of any experience I get.”

Currently, Alfie mainly sings covers from his pop idols Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran and Queen, but is working on writing his own music for the future.
