A DRUMCHAPEL woman is a massive £50,000 richer thanks to an unexpected trip to the bingo.
The lucky lady, who does not wish to be named, took home the jackpot prize after winning the national game.
During a trip to the chemist, the 63-year-old was told to wait 20 minutes to pick up her prescription, so she decided to pop in to the Mecca Bingo, Allerdyce Court, on Monday and get her medication on the way back.
The lady called on number 19 after a total of 16 numbers being shouted.
Duncan Anderson, manager at Drumchapel Mecca, told the Post: “She was really quite calm when she won. I don’t think she could believe it.

“I don’t think it sunk in how much she’d won. It’s our first 50k winner in a couple of years.”
The bingo hall has a lot lined up in the coming months, including Boyz on the Block performing on February 29. The boy band features Shane Lynch, of Boyzone fame, Five star Abz Love, Another Level frontman Dane Bowers and singer Ben Ofoedu, of Phats & Small. And on March 28, the Bounce Bingo tour will be hosted by Zander Nation.
