A HARDGATE nursery has been praised by inspectors.

Care Inspectorate staff visited Lucky Little Stars in October last year, and graded the service as “good”.

The Gavins Road facility was assessed on quality of care and support, environment, staffing and management and leadership.

Inspectors said: “Children confidently interacted with staff and staff gave children assistance and time to ensure they were happy and their needs were met.”

Inspectors also found that all children had a personal plan, and were involved in helping staff with tasks such as setting tables for lunch, and clearing up afterwards.

One parent told inspectors: “My child loves going to nursery, and she enjoys spending time with the staff and other children.

“I think this is a great nursery and would recommend them to other parents.”

Inspectors also found that previous recommendations had been implemented since their last visit, in November 2018.

They noted improvements had been made in areas including encouraging the children’s development, looking at ways of reducing the consumption of processed foods, and using more of children’s suggestions and interests to plan activities.

In the current report, which was published on January 15, inspectors concluded: “The nurturing staff were motivated and enthusiastic; they supported each other well and were respectful towards children, parents and each other.

“Children were settled and comfortable with staff who were nurturing, and displayed warmth and kindness consistently throughout the service.”
