Paige Doherty's mum is set to walk 5,000 this year for charity.

Pamela Munro will travel the length and breadth of Scotland as she tackles the mammoth challenge.

She is aiming to complete Kiltwalks in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dundee, as well as taking part in walks she has arranged in Paige's memory.

Tragic 15-year-old Paige was killed in March 2016.

Pamela, posting on Facebook today, wrote: "Hey everyone its Paige's mum here. I have been off Facebook for months to give me time to recharge my batteries and some time to myself.

"Now I'm back on, I am starting the year as I mean to go on with a 5,000 mile in a year challenge - meaning I will be walking 5,000 miles throughout the year.

"This will include all the Kiltwalks as well as other walks I have arranged and doing on my own or with friends."

Pamela hopes to meet up with other people who have lost loved ones, and is asking for anyone in the same situation to contact her so she can print their names on Paige's flags.

She added: "I hope to go all around Scotland and I will be leaving Paige's Promise flags in certain areas with lost loved ones names.

"If you have lost someone please send me there names so i can print onto our flags. I will be putting on updates regularly for all to see."

Drumming up support for her adventure, Pamela added: "If anyone wants to walk with me at any point, please get in touch. Or feel free to join team Paige this year at the Kiltwalk. You can sign up via the Kiltwalk website, and choose the charity Paige's promise.

"All help and attendance is much appreciated as always, and goes a long way to helping other families."
