A BOY band featuring a quartet of former 1990s stars will take to the stage to entertain bingo fans in Drumchapel next month.

Boyz on the Block will headline a music night in Mecca Bingo hall on Great Western Road.

The group features Shane Lynch, of Boyzone fame, Five star Abz Love, Another Level frontman Dane Bowers and singer Ben Ofoedu, of Phats & Small.

The singers recently formed the new band called Boyz on the Block and will be touring the UK with the act.

They will perform locally on February 29.

Dane Bowers found fame in Another Level and collaborated with Victoria Beckham on the smash single Out Of Your Mind.

Abz Love, whose real name is Richard Breen, was in boyband Five who ruled the charts in the 90s with hits Everybody Get Up and Got the Feelin.

Shane Lynch recently performed his final farewell show with Boyzone in Glasgow while Ben Ofoedu shot to fame with hit single Turn Around.

Duncan Anderson, Mecca Drumchapel manager, told the Post: “Our customers can expect an exciting and fun filled night with bingo, dancing and lots of singing.

“It is very exciting for us to welcome such well known recognizable names to our Drumchapel club.

“We cannot wait to host such a fantastic lively event in this area and hope all the locals can join us on this amazing night.”

Doors open at 5.30pm for a jam packed night of entertainment. Bingo is included (for free). The night is suitable for over 18s only.

The running order for the night will be as follows: Doors open at 5:30pm, bingo 7pm-7:20pm - three pages, interval 7:20pm-7:45pm, bingo 7:45pm-8:20pm - five pages, The Big Sing 8:45pm-9:05pm, Support act (TBC) 9:15pm-9:45pm, and finally Boyz On Block 10pm-11:30pm. The timings may be subject to change.
