A CLYDEMUIR primary pupil will have her artwork printed on the Provost’s official Christmas card this year.

Primary six youngster Sophie Kidd had her design picked as the winner of the annual competition.

The youngster drew a Christmas scene that featured the Titan Crane.

Provost William Hendrie’s card will be delivered across West Dunbartonshire and beyond to more than 300 individuals and organisations.

Every year, one school from the local authority is selected to take part in the Christmas card competition and this year it was the turn of Clydemuir Primary.

Designs by Archie Myall and Mirren McReynolds came second and third – and all three winners met with Provost Hendrie this week, where he was able to congratulate them in person.

The provost said: "Each year, we receive fantastic designs from our primary school students, and every year it gets harder to pick a winner.

“I picked Sophie's design as the overall winner because it stuck out, with the local feature of the Titan Crane and the festive Santa travelling across the night sky.

"It’s important for our students to have a creative outlet and I’d like to thank the teachers who nurture this talent. Congratulations to our winners and to everyone who took part.”

As the winner, Sophie received a framed copy of her design, a gift voucher for £30 and an engraved snowman Christmas tree decoration.

The two runners up received a £25 gift voucher and an engraved snowman Christmas tree decoration.
