CLYDEBANK’S Golden Jubilee has shown its commitment to its young work force by retaining the Investors in Young People Gold award.

The hospital was the first NHS Scotland organisation to receive the award when it was first accredited in 2017 – and has maintained this by fully integrating the management of young people into its business practices.

The Golden Jubilee has built relationships with schools and colleges to give youngsters the opportunity to carry out work experience. They also provide hospital work placements for those wanting to apply to university.

Elaine Barr, recruitment manager, said: “Our inclusive policies and procedures ensure that we can continue to include and involve staff of all ages in everything we do.”

The Investors in Young People programme provides an excellent framework to recognise our efforts in this area and enables us to continuously measure, improve and develop our approach to equality for all, no matter what your age may be.

“We are delighted that our commitment to supporting our young workforce has been recognised yet again with retaining the award.”

Last year, the hospital received recognition from West Dunbartonshire Council for its commitment to the Schools Employability Skills Programme, which supports students wishing to follow a career in medicine or nursing. And this year were finalists at the Working4Business awards for their work in developing the young workforce.
