POLICE are hunting for a woman dressed in a housecoat who stole candles and a toaster.

The suspect in a white and grey gown was accompanied by another woman wearing all black when they walked out of Dunelm in Clydebank at around 4.30pm on November 19.

They had lifted candles, a knife block, sandwich maker and a toaster, but they were confronted by staff, who recovered the items, before the women went towards a vehicle.

Anyone who may have seen the women, said to be in their 30s, is asked to contact Clydebank police.

In a separate incident, a 32-year-old man was reported to the procurator fiscal for the alleged theft of headphones from Asda at around 1pm on November 20.

A woman, aged 30, was given a recorded police warning for theft of a games console, two sets of Christmas lights and a few Robinsons Squash’d squeeze bottles.

That also happened at Asda around 3pm.

At 6pm that day in the same store, a woman, 42, and man, 49, were reported by police for alleged theft of a quantity of alcohol and toiletries.
