STAFF at the Clydebank Poundland store have set up a new initiative in order to spread some Christmas cheer.

The employees chose three local organisations to donate items to that customers in the store purchase and place in a box.

Three boxes have been set up with suggested items to donate for each group the store chose to help: Clyde Court Care Home, Golden Friendships and the Scottish SPCA’s West Dunbartonshire centre.

The staff at Poundland said: “It’s been set up for the first time as everyone deserves a little something at Christmas and it’s good to give something back to the community.

“It was difficult to pick the organisations, as there’s lots of great causes but this way everyone is covered from the local kids to the elderly and even the animals.

“It’s going well so far but we are still looking for more as every little helps. It would be wonderful if customers could purchase something and put it in the boxes.

“We’d love to collect a few more selection boxes and advent calendars before we hand them over to the organisations.”
