RESIDENTS of Duntocher are being invited to attend an event to celebrate their very own community Christmas tree.

Last year, around £700 was raised in order to buy the live tree following cuts from West Dunbartonshire Council which meant Duntocher would no longer be provided with one from the local authority.

Residents got together to celebrate their newly planted tree and get into the Christmas spirit.

The event was such a hit with locals, that on Friday, December 6, 2019, the second one will be held.

A night of festive joy is planned with singing from St Mary’s Choir and Clydebank Musical Society Juniors.

Santa, Elsa and Olaf will also be making an appearance and there will be snacks available to purchase from Brian’s Ice Cream Van.

Organisers are also hoping to help West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare this festive season by asking anyone who attends to bring a food donation along with them.

To attend, head to Old Street, Duntocher, for 7pm on Friday, December 6.
