A MAN who was allegedly caught abusing a dog has been reported to the procurator fiscal.

The 32-year-old was on Dumbarton Road, near Gavinburn Street, when he was allegedly causing harm to the pet on November 12 at around 7.20pm.

He was reportedly seen throwing it, stamping on it and picking it up and leaving it hanging by its lead.

And people who approached him about his behaviour were reportedly subjected to verbal abuse.

A short time before, he was allegedly on a bus shouting and swearing at the driver who made him get off.

Police were contacted and arrested the man.
