COUNCILLORS will be asked next week to back a trial of robotic lawnmowers for grass cutting next year.
Councillor Sally Page has proposed a motion for council bosses to report back on the possibility of the robotic option for parks in 2020.
The motion states: "Council is supportive of trialling the use of robotic lawnmowers and agrees that a report be brought back to the next council meeting detailing proposals for such a trial in parks during the 2020 grass cutting season.
"The report should specify the costs associated with the proposals including whether the costs can be met from existing budgets."
West Dunbartonshire Council meets on November 27 at Church Street, Dumbarton.
