CLYDEBANK’S former shipyard workers willing to share their experiences about the industry are being asked to come forward to help with a new project.

Townsend Theatre Productions is turning to the shipbuilding industry in a bid to explore the positive impact it had on communities and the legacy it has left behind.

The group aim to record interviews with individuals and arrange group discussions to build a picture of the time, personal stories of the different types of work, and the impact of the closure.

A spokesperson for the theatre group said: “We would like to film and record some of the interviews and sessions, as well as keep a photographic record.

“With your permission and approval, some of the material may contribute to an exhibition and an archive; some may even feature as part of the final play script.”
