A CLYDEBANK school pupil made the half time draw in front of thousands of football fans during a day out at Celtic Park, writes Maisy Montgomery.

Erin Murphy, aged 10, was joined by classmates from St Eunan’s Primary School and peers from Renton Craigando 2011 football team at Saturday’s match between the Hoops and Motherwell in the SPFL.

The Kano Foundation, which treats children to a day out at Celtic Park, honoured Erin with the half-time treat to celebrate their 10,000 ticket give-away.

Sean Connor, River City actor, presented Erin with a specially commissioned scarf and a gift voucher. He added: “The Kano Foundation is a fantastic organisation which helps many other charities and groups offer a great free day out to those in need.

“It’s experiences like this that encourage kids to do something positive with their future. It’s a pleasure to help them celebrate this special milestone.”

Scott Brown, Celtic captain and Kano Foundation patron, said:“Being involved with The Kano Foundation is important to me as a player and on a personal level. That’s why I’m delighted more than 10,000 kids have experienced a great day out.

“The Kano Foundation is a real example of making football matches more accessible while helping community organisations working with some fantastic young people.”
