A NEW befriending service launching in the New Year is seeking volunteers.
The Mindset Service, operated by West Dunbartonshire Community and Volunteering Services (WDCVS), aims to provide community based support for adults over 25.
Rhona Watson, service lead, said: “Mindset is a short-term befriending service supporting people living with anxiety and stress, to connect with their community.
“We know that these conditions can make someone feel isolated and hinder their ability to get involved in the things that they care about.
“This service aims to help overcome that by providing the support of a befriender over a 6-month period.”

The service is currently looking for potential befrienders to start training.
Rhona added: “We are looking to recruit adults with lived experience of mental health issues, maybe themselves or in their family or people who are interested in a social care career.”
The training will run across a 16-hour period and all volunteers will be asked to go through a PVG check.
The service is funded by the Tudor and Robertson Trusts and the Corra and Bank of Scotland Foundations.
