THE friends of a young Clydebank mum who passed away have rallied round to help support her family - and each other.

Denai McDougall, 19, from Dalmuir was well known in Clydebank having grown up in the area.

The teen sadly died on October 25 leaving behind her beloved two-year-old son.

A group of Denai's friends have now set up a GoFundMe page to help towards funeral costs and savings for her toddler.

More than £800 has already been raised.

Taylor McGee, a life-long friend of Denai described her pal as "lovely, kind and outgoing".

The pair went to Clydemuir Primary and Clydebank High together.

Taylor, 20, told the Post: "Denai always put her son first before anyone and he absolutely adored her. She was well known in Clydebank, Dumbarton and Balloch having lived in Balloch for the last few years.

"She had recently moved back to Dalmuir and was getting on really well and looking forward to finding a job for Christmas, she spent a lot of time with her gran, mum and sisters."

As well as Taylor - Andrea Murphy, Shannon Maitland, Megan Hollywood, Paige Wright, Amie McIntosh, Lauren Johnston, Shanna Menzies, and Kathleen Short have all being showing their support.

The group of close friends recently held a balloon release in memory of their "angel" and have set up the Facebook page "Remembering Denai McDougall".

A fundraiser event will also be organised in the future.

The close friends wrote on the GoFundMe page: "We have set up this page to help and support the family of Denai McDougall.
