THE Golden Jubilee in Clydebank has appointed a new medical director and two new board members.

Dr Mark MacGregor was appointed as the medical director following a rigorous seven-stage recruitment process.

He joins NHS Golden Jubilee from NHS Ayrshire and Arran, where he was a consultant nephrologist and interim medical director for acute services.

And a health foundation fellow and a former senior medical officer in the Scottish Government, he was also a non-executive director of the Golden Jubilee from 2011-2019.

Dr MacGregor said: “The Golden Jubilee is continually striving for excellence and I am delighted to be appointed at an exciting time to help deliver our expansion plans, which will provide benefits for patients across the whole of NHS Scotland.

“As a non-executive director of the hospital, I was fortunate enough to be involved in many innovations and expansions over the past eight years and it is a privilege to continue my involvement in a different capacity.

“I’m looking forward to working alongside our skilled and committed clinical teams delivering high quality, person-centred care to serve the needs of patients from across Scotland, while advancing the field of medicine through world class research and innovation.”

Meanwhile, Morag Brown and Rob Moore will have been welcomed as non-executive board members until September 2023.

Ms Brown has 40 years’ experience in health and social work/care at practice, senior management and non-executive level and Mr Moore is an internationally experienced director with a background in hospitality, strategic management, business development, recruitment, coaching and training.
