On Thursday, October 14, 2004, the Post reported...
REVELLERS swung into harvest with a special autumn fair.
They gathered at Abbotsford Church where they were treated to a variety of entertainments including a first for Clydebank — the Bat the Rat competition.
There was also the more usual activities of face painting, a tea room, a silent auction and a selection of stalls.
Organisers decided to go for a 50’s and 60’s theme for the day, which meant guests enjoyed dressing up.

Church member Margaret Wilson said: “The tea room ladies dressed up as pink ladies and the Minister had an Elvis shirt on. We were a sight for sore eyes I can tell you. It was well supported and good fun.”
Around £2,000 was raised throughout the day - which will all go towards the church funds.
