MORE than half of people living in West Dunbartonshire now recognise the urgency of the climate emergency, it’s been claimed.

According to the Scottish Green Party, 53 per cent of locals now view climate change as an urgent problem.

Ross Greer, Greens MSP, said: “The climate emergency is the biggest threat facing humanity, so it’s reassuring that a growing number of people in West Dunbartonshire and across Scotland recognise the urgency of this crisis.

The Scottish Greens recognise the challenges posed by this emergency, and the need to take bold action.

“We also know that the bold action required presents huge opportunities to create jobs and transform communities for the better. That’s why we’ve proposed a Scottish Green New Deal, which would deliver quality fare-free public transport, ensure everyone has a warm home and transfer investment from fossil fuel corporations to renewable energy projects.

“Scotland can tackle the climate emergency and create thousands of quality jobs in the process.”
