A CLYDEBANK woman says she is “delighted” to have won a long time service award at a recent ceremony.

Fiona Allan, part of NHS 24’s technology team, was nominated by her colleagues due to her long-standing contribution to the service since its beginnings in 2002.

She scooped the award at the recent NHS 42’s Spotlight Awards ceremony.

Fiona said: “I am really delighted to have been nominated and to win this award.

“I am very privileged to work with such fantastic colleagues and managers. Every day I see what an incredible job everyone does to provide such a great service and I’m proud to play a part in it.”

Angiolina Foster, NHS 24’s chief executive, presented Fiona with her award.

Angiolina said: “It was great to see so many staff from across the country join in the celebration.

“We had more nominations this year than ever before, and it’s lovely to see so many of our staff give their peers and team such recognition.

“Our 111 service provides an excellent service for the people of Scotland who need help and advice during the out-of-hours period, so it was a great opportunity for us to reflect on and celebrate our achievements while acknowledging skill sets across the organisation.

“The evening was a success and I continue to be inspired and motivated by all of our staff within NHS 24 who work together to provide safe, effective and person-centred care to the people of Scotland.”
