The Scotstoun community have reacted with shock following the unexplained death of a man.
Police were called to Northland Drive early yesterday where the 38-year-old was found seriously injured.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he succumed to his injuries.
Two uniformed officers could be seen standing guard inside the close to a block of flats at 26 Northland Drive - where the incident is thought to have circulated.
Local councillor for the area, Eva Murray, said: “My thoughts are with the gentleman’s family, friends and neighbours at this difficult time.
“This is very concerning news for our area and I know that many people in this close-knit community will have been left in a state of shock following today’s incident.
“A number of questions are still to be answered but I want to thank the emergency services for all their efforts and I know they will continue to support and ensure the community is kept up to date throughout any investigation.”
A man who lives inside the block told our sister paper the Evening Times: “When I came down this morning and saw the police that was the first I knew of it.
“There was a bunch of forensics police in white suits just investigating the area down at the ground floor close.
“Seems like something pretty bad happened, I’m sorry to hear about the guy passing away.”
A Police Scotland spokesman earlier said: "We received a report of a 38-year-old man seriously injured on Northland Drive, Glasgow around 3.15 am on Wednesday, October 16 2019.
"He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he died. A post mortem will be carried out.
"His death is currently being treated as unexplained."
