CLYDE Shopping Centre have announced they are “delighted” to have won an award.

The retailer won gold at the Green World Environment Awards in the global campaign to find the world’s greenest countries, companies and communities.

The Clydebank centre competed against more than 500 other nominations, and were awarded a Global Gold trophy and certificate under the Property Management category.

A presentation ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, took place on September 30 and the award was shipped to the centre afterwards.

Ross Campbell of Edinburgh House Estates, who manage the centre, said: “We are delighted for the team at Clyde. This is a global award for their hard work in championing environmental issues and actually delivering results at the centre.”

As a CSR World Leader, Clyde will have the winning paper published in The Green Book, the leading international work of reference on environmental best practice, so that others around the world can follow their ideas.

The awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an international, independent, non-political, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
