RESIDENTS of Bowling, Old Kilpatrick, and beyond ran their socks off at a recent event.

A “fun run” was organised for the community by reps from groups who use the halls in the villages.

More than 70 people attended on Saturday, September 14.

As well as a 5k and a 2k on the day, there was a barbecue for afterwards as well as other games and activities including face painting, tombola and tug-o-war.

There were information stalls set up by the NHS, West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) and a range of charities.

Julie Hunter of Old Kilpatrick Playgroup and Deputy Provost Karen Conaghan opened the event. The organisers received “great feedback” on the day and aim to be bigger and better next year.

Funds were raised by WDC’s Your Community team which will be used to support more community health activities throughout Bowling and Old Kilpatrick.
