A BRAND-new restaurant and bar will soon be open in Clydebank.

“The Lounge by the Clyde” has taken over the former John Brown’s Bar on Chalmers Street.

A full refurbishment is currently underway after the venue was “ripped to shreds” in order for it to be completely re done.

Management staff at the independent business are aiming to have their launch night in October.

They said: “We are trying to move away from the reputation the way John Brown’s was.

“We are taking away the pool table and sports, and going to make the venue much more modern.

“There will be food such as fajitas, pizza, burgers and much more, and we will have live music on upstairs.”

The Lounge by the Clyde are currently looking to recruit a full team of around 15 staff members including chefs, bar and waiting staff.

A recruitment event will be held on Thursday, September 26, from 3-8pm at the venue itself.
