THE team at Clydebank’s Recycle Room have announced how much clothes they have stopped going to landfill.

Over the last 12 weeks, they have saved a total of 2,540kg of clothing from going in the bin.

That is the equivalent to 2.54 tonnes or 399.98 stones.

The team who collect donations sort these out before giving them away for free - individually or in bundles.

The bundles are a variety of items in the same size, such as ladies size ten or kids size 3-4.

The Recycle Room shared the recent news on Twitter and on Facebook.

And the team are already preparing to help residents across Clydebank for Christmas.

Ideas include a book/DVD advent calender, personalised letters from Santa, a used toy event, and a party wear section.
