SENIORS living in Clydebank are being invited to attend a coffee morning at the Scottish SPCA centre.

The animal welfare charity in West Dunbartonshire are calling on pensioners to go and socialise with the team and the animals in their care next week.

On Tuesday, September 17, the “O.A.Tea Event” will take place from 10.15am-12pm.

Kim Mackrell, assistant manager of the centre, said: “We are opening our doors for seniors to come and meet our team and some of the animals in our care.

“We know that many older people may not be able to have pets of their own, or they may have lost one recently, and we would like to offer them the opportunity to get to know some of our residents in need of a home.

“Animals can bring such joy and can have a calming and positive effect on people around them.

“It will be a relaxed and sociable morning and all mature animal lovers are welcome.

“We know that our animals are very much looking forward to making lots of new friends.”

Anyone who is interested in going to the O.A.Tea Event should book their place by phoning 01389 761208 or by visiting the centre on Dumbarton Road, Milton, Dumbarton G82 2UA.
