YOUNGSTERS from April's Street Feet danced their way to the top at a recent championship event.
On August 22, the dance school travelled to Blackpool to take part in this year’s UDO World Street Dance Championships.
Nu Crew were crowned world champions for the under-eight advanced team, and the under-10 advanced quad also took first place in their category. Meanwhile, the Prestige group were crowned world champion runners-up for the under-16s.
April and Ellie took third place for over-18s, Mylie and Kenzie won third place for under-12 advanced, Abbie and Muireann won second place for under-12 novice, Darci and Lucy won second place for under-10 intermediate.

And for solos, Kenzie took third place for under-10, Darci sixth for under-10 advanced, Eva for sixth place under-14, and Michaela took seventh place in the under-18 advanced female category.
Teacher April Stuart-Macrae said: “There were more than 12,000 there - thousands of dancers. To even get to go to the worlds you need to qualify - that’s an achievement in itself.
“So, when you go, you don’t expect to win anything. I know dance schools that didn’t even get to the finals so to win there is unreal. I’m so proud of them all.
“The kids were in the studio from 10am to 4pm during the school holidays - they didn’t even see a bit of the sun.”
