Clydebank FC 2005 has cause for celebration after scoring a set of new tracksuits.

McDonald’s franchisee Steve Tomlin, who owns the restaurant in Kilbowie Retail Park, has sponsored the team.

He said: “We’re so proud to be able to support a local football team like Clydebank FC 2005. All of my eight restaurants sponsor a local team as it’s a cause very close to my heart.

"I believe it’s important that as a business, and as a franchisee, we support local teams to help them create the best possible experience for young aspiring players. It was great to meet the team and we wish them all the best for the upcoming season.”

The team, made up of 12 and 13-year olds, play in the Paisley League on Saturday mornings. They are just some of the over 200 children at the Clydebank academy, where coaches and family members include staff from McDonald’s.

Kieran McAnespie, Clydebank’s first team manager, said: “We’re very grateful to Steve and his restaurant for their support and sponsorship. The new tracksuits are great, and we hope they will be a good luck charm for the 2019/2020 season. Regardless of where we come in the table, we really hope to continue our partnership with McDonald’s in the future.”
