A MAN was attacked with a machete in broad daylight in Knightswood.
The shocking attack happened close to shops on Baldwin Avenue on Saturday afternoon.
It is understood the victim escaped his attackers who went on to smash up his car.
He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.
Our sister paper the Evening Times understands that police are following a positive line of enquiry. It is also understood that the attack was targeted.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 3.30pm on Saturday, August 17 a man was attacked and seriously injured with a bladed weapon in Baldwin Avenue.
"The man's car was also vandalised.

"He was taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where his condition is described by medics as serious but stable.
"Enquiries are continuing."
