Banish summer boredom and get set for an afternoon of fun and games as Whitecrook’s Gala Day returns this weekend for its 11th year.

Last year organisers were delighted with the response from the community as residents turned out in their numbers to celebrate a decade of the event and all of the good things happening in the area.

And while last year was described as bigger and better than ever, this year also promises to live up to the high standard set by the success of the 2018 gala day.

Taking place on Saturday, August 3 from 12-4pm at Centre81, there will be a host of entertainment and activities on offer.

Organisers have lined up a fun-packed afternoon of music and dance performances, as well as garden workshops, a tombola, face painting, bike maintenance workshops, a table top sale, pony rides and a soft play area for children under five.

There will even be funfair rides and a bouncy castle for those looking to let their hair down and get into the spirit of summer.

And if all all that excitement works up an appetite then don’t despair because a barbecue and refreshments will also be available.
