A CLYDEBANK woman has set up a Facebook group that allows others to help people by giving away unwanted items.

“We care, we share Clydebank and Glasgow” is a group set up by Laura Ripley, 26, so people in the area can pull together and help each other out.

The items given away need to be free of charge, and people from Clydebank, Knightswood, Yoker, Scotstoun and Drumchapel have all joined the group.

Anyone can join and ask for help publicly on the page or people can privately message one of the three admins to post on their behalf.

And if you have any items you no longer need or want you can share the details on the page for someone to take off your hands.

There are already 700 members who have given away or received items like baby clothes, fridge freezers, wardrobes, toys, and more.

Laura said: “I started this to help other people in the community when they have nothing or are struggling. People can be in need and not have a lot of money so it’s important to have somewhere everyone can go to for help, or to help others.

“The page is going great – there’s loads of people giving away and looking for clothes, washing machines, beds, and plenty more.”

To join the group, search “We care we share Clydebank and Glasgow” on Facebook.
