Clydebank’s Golden Jubilee Hospital has announced the appointment of a new director of finance.

Colin Neil has joined the Clydebank hospital after leaving his post at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC).

He worked as assistant director of finance for acute services with NHSGGC, and has 30 years experience working for the NHS.

Colin began his career in a junior financial role at Argyll and Clyde health board when he was just 19-years-old.

Now 49 years old, he will use his experience of working for the NHS to ensure Golden Jubilee continues to meet its financial targets, and will be taking responsibility for an annual budget of £320 million.

Paisley-born Colin was also one of the team responsible for amalgamating Greater Glasgow’s five health and social care partnerships into one unified service.

He said: “It’s a big job but I am really looking forward to getting started at the Golden Jubilee.

“It’s a massive privilege to be part of such a dynamic and inspirational organisation, which has achieved outstanding success over the years.

“It is a very exciting time to get on board here with the new expansions for ophthalmology and orthopaedics, as well as the rollout of new elective services across Scotland, which the Golden Jubilee will play a major part in.

“I look forward to working with my new colleagues within the board, as well as collaborating across NHS Scotland to help improve the health of the Scottish population.”
