A WEST Dunbartonshire business body has launched an innovative new way to network.

The Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce held its first “Netwalking the Chamber” event last week.

Participants at the events take part in a leisurely walk with other members of the business community, which gives them the chance to get to know other like-minded business people, as well as sharing expertise and experience with others from the local area.

The first walk was along the Forth and Clyde canal from Clydebank.

Organised with the help of Chamber member Nick Smith of outdoor coaching firm Squarepegs Coaching, the group hopes to have a series of different events throughout the summer, culminating in a full day’s walk up Ben Lomond.

Chamber chief executive Damon Smith said: “We were delighted with our Netwalking launch event.

“As well as the health and wellbeing benefits of walking and getting a good dose of fresh air, Netwalking provides a unique opportunity for business people to escape the pressures and distractions of the office.

“The feedback was excellent with some great conversations taking place and ideas being shared and developed.”
