THE car used by three suspects who attacked a man in Clydebank has been found burnt out.

A 24-year-old was left needing hospital treatment after he was seriously assaulted by the three men on Beardmore Street.

Police are appealing for information after the incident that took place around 9.45am on Monday morning.

The victim was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and treated for cuts to his head, then later released.

The three suspects were all wearing dark-coloured clothing and made off in a black coloured Volkswagen Polo car that headed towards the Parkhall area of Clydebank.

A short time later, a black Volkswagen Polo was found burned out on Baljaffray Road, Bearsden, which is believed to be the same vehicle used by the suspects.

Detective Inspector Ogilvie Ross, Clydebank CID, said: “Violence and fire-raising are both extremely dangerous and we are doing everything we can to trace those responsible. This does appear to be a targeted attack.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident or was in the area on Monday morning who may have information that can help us.

“Our officers are going through CCTV; however, we would also ask anyone who may have dash-cam footage from the area of Beardmore Street or Baljaffray Road around that time to get in contact as they may hold information that could assist our enquiries.”
