DOZENS of primary pupils swapped their schoolbooks for TV stardom last week and proved to be cool under pressure.

Fifty delighted Clydemuir Primary kids made their television debut on the CBBC game show 50/50 and beat their east coast opponents from a school in Edinburgh.

The pupils won by answering tough general knowledge questions and taking part in team games.

But they were well up for the challenge and the clever Clydemuir children came home with a school trophy and their own 50/50 goodie bags, which included a personal radio and a t-shirt.

A spokesman for West Dunbartonshire Council said: “The recording took place on a cold January day in the BBC studios, Glasgow. It was a very close contest and the result was not decided until the last game.”
