THE European Parliament election result for West Dunbartonshire has been announced – and while some aspects of the outcome mirrored the Scottish nationwide picture, others were notably different.
The SNP, as with most of Scotland's council areas, comfortably won the largest number of votes, but Labour beat the Brexit Party into second place locally, with the Liberal Democrats fourth and the Conservatives trailing in sixth place.

The West Dunbartonshire turnout was 35.68 per cent, with a total of 23,518 ballot papers counted by local authority staff.
